The Strength In Our Scars

Bianca Sparacino wrote this book, and I saw it on Pinterest because I’m guessing Pinterest listens to your thoughts now like everything else. It wasn’t bad, super short. I probably wouldn’t pay for it. I didn’t find it groundbreaking like other people. I thought it flowed nicely and was straight to the point. Do I think it’ll help with heartbreak? No, unless you passed the denial stage. This isn’t the book if you still want that person back or have some hostile feelings. I think it puts a positive spin on the breakup in such that really cruel things that are said and done aren’t about you. So if they hurt you, she wants you to understand it’s because they know your value and can’t measure up. People run from love not because the other person isn’t good enough, but essentially the person is too good. The book has you thinking from the other person’s perception, which I believe helps put your feelings in perspective.  The purpose of her book is that we can’t take breakups too seriously because people are entitled to and have deep-rooted baggage; that have nothing to do with us. Ideally, there is a part she said, “the person will move on and be with someone else, and that’s okay”. I got that, but rather than being upset; you should be happy because you can move on.  In other words they are moving on to burden someone else, and you can move on and be with then right person without compromise. She asks you to be honest with the kind of relationship you had.

The main point is to take it as a lesson, don’t let it sour you. Choose love and to love again.

Overall, it was nicely written/read. I think this is an excellent transitional book. One that a lot of people can relate to. I would suggest not reading it, if your breakup is fresh and feelings are raw. This book has the power too aggravate  you if you are feeling disempowered. But once those feelings settle, it’s a good book with a fresh perspective. It is also a good book if you are on a path to change. I would recommend the audiobook, I think is nicely read.
